About EcoCyan

Science that movesfrom the lab to the land.

EcoCyan is an Egyptian agricultural biotechnology company developing biological solutions based on photosynthetic cyanobacteria and plant-associated microorganisms.

Our work brings together microbiology, plant science and regenerative agriculture to explore practical biological alternatives that support healthier agricultural systems.

Our story

Built from research.Created for agriculture.

EcoCyan began with a scientific question: how can naturally resilient microorganisms become practical tools for more sustainable agriculture?

Our research focuses on cyanobacteria and the microbial communities that naturally live alongside them.

These organisms can survive under challenging environmental conditions and are closely connected to biological processes that influence soil fertility, nutrient availability and plant development.

At the center of our work is Nostoc sp. strain NoHu, a nitrogen-fixing cyanobacterium isolated from arid Egyptian soil at Sekem Farm in Belbis and investigated through peer-reviewed agricultural microbiology research.

That scientific foundation became the starting point for EcoCyan and the development of Cyanoboost, our flagship cyanobacteria-based agricultural biological.

Mission

Advancing regenerative agriculturethrough biological science.

Our mission is to develop effective biological alternatives that can reduce agriculture's dependence on synthetic inputs while supporting regenerative agricultural systems through the power of photosynthetic cyanobacteria.

We believe microorganisms can become an important part of the transition toward farming systems that work more closely with natural biological processes.

Vision

Agriculture workingin harmony with nature.

We envision a future where farmers can combine productivity with healthier agricultural ecosystems.

EcoCyan aims to develop nature-based technologies that support agricultural performance while contributing to broader environmental sustainability.

Our foundation

Research is not an afterthought. It is our foundation.

EcoCyan's technology originates from scientific research rather than from a conventional fertilizer formulation.

The research behind our platform examined nitrogen-fixing cyanobacteria together with their naturally associated heterotrophic bacteria and investigated multiple plant-growth-promoting activities.

The biological system

Plants don't grow alone.

Plant roots interact continuously with complex microbial communities within the rhizosphere.

EcoCyan studies these relationships to understand how cyanobacteria and associated microorganisms can contribute to biologically active agricultural systems.

Scientific roots

Egyptian research.Agricultural relevance.Global potential.

The scientific work behind EcoCyan includes research conducted through the Faculty of Organic Agriculture at Heliopolis University.

The microorganisms at the center of the research were isolated from arid soil at Sekem Farm in Belbis, Egypt, connecting EcoCyan's biological platform directly to Egyptian agricultural environments.

The underlying research was published in the Egyptian Journal of Chemistry.
